All Things Christmas 2012

This Christmas season seemed very busy, but was also very enjoyable.  After we got back from Auburn for Thanksgiving, we pulled out the fake tree (http://pidge77.blogspot.com/2011/12/i-am-live-tree-type-of-girl.html) and just put up the lights and the new train set Justin got for free somewhere.

Paige and I had a Mommy/Daughter date to see the Nutcracker.  It was in a little theater in Antioch and a girl I went to school with had two daughters in this performance.  The price was good and it was a really good show.  Plus we got to get dressed up.  It was a lot of fun.

We had a fun afternoon of decorating Cookies and the tree!

We spent Christmas Eve day with Justin's family in Santa Cruz as per usual.  Dan & Michelle always have lots of food and it is really good. Plus I got to see all of my nephews and nieces and had some bonding time with the newest one born in August 2012!

I can't believe we got a family picture with all of us and I was even in it!
After we were done there, we headed back to our house (We decided to spend more time in SC this year and not try to participate in the Skype call with my family back home in Boston) and got ready since my family came over for Christmas eve.  We got Paige into her PJ's and once the family arrived we hung out and snacked for a few hours.  We put the reindeer food on the lawn and put Paige to sleep.
We also made "snow" from a bar of Dove soap for the bate

The next morning we enjoyed some time opening presents from Santa and from Ohio at our house and then we headed to my parents house.  As per usual, we had a ton presents to open, had some of our favorite Christmas morning foods (Breakfast pizza).  Chelsie had thrown out her back so she wasn't too mobile, so her and my mom stayed home while my dad, Mikaila, Justin & I wen to see the Hobbit!  It was such a fun relaxing day!

The 2012 Adventures of Snowflake the elf

We got an "Elf on the Shelf" around the time of Paige's third Birthday.  We read the book and as a family named EGIAP.  Egiap was in a new place every morning and Paige had a great time finding him.  However, he never made it back from the north pole the next year.   We were endanger of this again this year but lucky Egaip sent his friend along with a not explaining that he was working on a Secret project with Santa but he sent his friend (This time a girl elf) and Paige named her Snowflake.  Snowflake was quite the mischievous elf in comparison.

The next night she T.P.'s our Christmas tree!

The she hung out holding Baby Jesus

She was in the gumball machine and brought a barbie gumball machine

She set-up class for the little toys about how to write a letter to Santa.

She went Ziplining in our living room

She died the toilet water pink (Looks orange in this pic though)
On her last night she came with a letter from Santa about what a great little girl she has been!

My Reverse Picky Eater

My daughter is a picky eater, but definitely not in the traditional sense. Here are some examples of the things she will and will not eat:

She loves almost all fruit and most Veggies (As long as they are not cooked)
Among her favorite veggies is a raw onion (Seriously???)
She is not a big fan of most meats and refuses to eat Steak, Chicken, Pork or fish, unless it is the form of a Hot Dog, Salami, Beef Jerky or a Hot Spicy pickled sausage (Again- Seriously)
At a Chinese restaurant, she won't eat 99% of the menu, but she will eat Hot & Sour soup and Singapore rice noodles.
She doesn't like sparking cider, etc because it is too Spicy
She loves Miso soup and Edamame Beans at Sushi
She will only eat Pepperoni Pizza
At Macondalds, we get a kids meal, but it is with a Cheesburger with no burger.  Just bun and cheese.  This option is much better at In & Out where they actually grill it and it feels more like a grilled cheese.
She loves most anything pickled, Pickled Green Beans and Pickled Eggs are her favorite
She only like Quesadilla's with cheese and cut up mild jalapenos

Sometimes I have a hard time because she won't east most of the meals I want to cook for Justin & Me, but I have to appreciate that she does eat so many things and that she likes a lot of fun/spicy foods!

Here are some pictures from Our Chinese food Date tonight.
