My brother Ronny & his wife Amanda had a new baby earlier this
summer (Gwen) so we planned a trip out to see the family since I haven't
met their 18 month old (Scarlett) either!
The first
night we headed to Ron & Dana's and had pizza with my neices &
nephews and my sister Danielle and her husband Jeff. It was fun to see
Paige meet her cousins. They became fast friends and even had a game of
flashlight tag with Grandma D! And I got to hold my newborn niece so
of course I was thrilled.
The next day, my sister n law
Amanda was kind enough to watch Paige (Along with her 6 children!) so
that Danielle, Jeff, Justin & I could go to the Feast of the
Assumption. We had a good time and even stumbled upon a cigar shop
where they all bought cigars. We headed from there to the Great Lakes
Brewery where in addition the their beer I got to sample their homemade
pickles. They were this odd mixture of sweet and dill pickles, but I
liked them.
After that we met up with the whole family
sat Melt. Justin & Doug (My sister Jen's boyfriend) participated in
the Melt Challenge which involved them trying to eat WAY too much
food. My favorite part was Paige cheering "Go Daddy Go" while Justin
was at the other end of the table and poor Doug was across from us.
The
next evening, we got to attend Gwens Baptism and party. And while us
adults went to see a comedy show/hypnotist , Amanda took Paige overnight
and took her to her first Drive In Movie! They even had some Glow in
the dark fun!
On
Saturday, DAnielle & Jeff hosted a pool party for all of the family
to get an opportunity to meet Justin & Paige (And me for a few of
them).
Sunday we relaxed with a little more pool time and we headed to Jen & Doug's that night.
On
Monday we were able to meet up with Amanda and her crew one more time
for a park playdate. Paige really had a great time with her cousins.
Monday night the rest of the family came to Jen & Doug's for dinner
and my cousin Kayla did a few haircuts including Paige's.
The last day, we finished up by heading to Huffman Park and the NFL Hall of fame on our way out!
