Sometimes I forget that my sister is grown up now and married, partially because she will always be my little sister and partially because I forget how old I am sometimes! But I will never forget the fun her wedding was! I will not lie, I was EXHAUSTED by the time the weekend was over, but it was so great!
Kayla and I flew in on late Wednesday night so we could be there a couple of days early to help with the many things that still needed to be done with a DIY wedding. Chelsie was working through friday so there was much to be done! We got in and all pretty much crashed and had an early wake-up call on Thursday Morning! One of our first challenges was to make this scoreboard. We also got to check all of the cups to make sure everyone's name was there and they were in the right box (Each table had its own box).
We did a bunch of other stuff that day and then checked into the hotel with mom on Thursday night. Lyndsi and Paul arrived and so did my cousin Richie, his wife Jenna, their baby RKIV and also my cousin Alicyn, her two kids Gaven & Ryan and my Aunt Cheryl. My Aunt Tricia, her son max and my Grandma were supposed to come in from Boston but due to some plane difficulties they were held up until the next day. We put together the gift bags for the hotel guest and handed out a couple of them. And also started organizing the millions of things my mother brought. Let me tell you, if you were a guest and forgot something- she probably had it! The funniest part of the night was when my mom super glued the super glue bottle to her hand after Midnight. We couldn't get it off! She had to wrap her hand with bandages and and the next morning she was finally able to get it off.
Friday was another busy day of doing stuff around the hotel getting thing ready for the wedding. I managed to squeeze in lunch with some family members at a mexican restaurant in old town!
Friday night, all of us girls got together for Chelsie's Bachelorette Party. It started off with Pizza, soda and pottery painting. We made them this beautiful bowl and then everyone got to make their own pottery piece and a candle. After the pottery making fun, we headed back to one of the bridesmaide's houses and had some dessert and opened the more "Private" gifts. It was fun watching her open them but I was exhausted so I headed back to the hotel a little earlier than some of the girls. Kayla stayed with her that night and I needed to get back to the hotel since Justin was at Tony's events and someone needed to get back to Paige!
Saturday Morning the bridesmaids and the flower girl got our nails done and had lunch with the bride. It was such a fun experience for Paige! Then we headed to the rehearsal and then to the dinner hosted by the Wrights. We ended the night with a bonfire at the hotel and smores (From the guest bags!). Justin, Paul & Max went night time fishing.
Ahh.. Sunday Morning- The big day. We headed to the salon to get pretty. I walked over to the Coffee Bean & Tea inside Ralphs but their expresso machine was down so I gave in and went to Starbucks. I was excited to get her a coffee that said "The Bride". After our hair was complete we went back to the suite at the hotel where the rest of us got our make-up down. Then we headed over to the park next to the wedding park to have our pictures taken. It was so fun being driven to the ceremony with my sister. I had to hold back my tears and help support her because she was a tad bit nervous.
The ceremony and the reception were beautiful- BUT COLD!!!! Especially as the sun went down. We had a minor problem with dinner since it took a lot longer to serve all the tables, but overall it was good. My cousins little daughter Emily did take a fall and chip her tooth in the dark, but no Major injuries. Then all of a sudden it was time for Chelsie & Tony to leave. And it was done. They were married and it was over.
The rest of us headed back to the hotel. I tried to put out some of the food my parents had bought but the refrigerator had stopped working so it had spoiled. But we still had Wine & Beer and a few snack items! Unfortunately the gas fireplace ran out of gas. Half of the family enjoyed their beverages out there and the other half hung out inside in the breakfast room where it was warm! Justin & Paige headed in early to bed and I hung out playing LRC as a drinking game with my cousins. I don't think we have all been old enough to drink ever so it was a new experience!
The next day we new we needed to head out since we were driving but we stayed way too late. It is so hard to say goodbye to family. Some of the family had early flights so we said good-bye at breakfast. We had a last lunch with the myers side and then stayed at the hotel for a bit longer before finally getting on the road. We ended up getting home about 10PM which was late since i had to work the next day! But worth it since we got to squeeze every moment out with my family which I love so much.
