Happy 2nd Birthday Scarlett

My Niece Scarlett is turning two next week.  She lives in Ohio so I had to get started on her present a little earlier.  But the budget is tight this month so when her mom told me that she loves tutus and sparkly sunglasses with no lenses I had it easy.  I found a no sew tutu tutorial on pinterest and Paige & I made it.  I also made Scarlett a little bag so she can go pretend grocery shopping for her little kitchen (first time I have made a bag from scratch and it gave me an excuse to use my new sewing machine).  Then I found a pair of sunglasses that don't fit Paige anymore, popped the lenses out and voila- present complete.  Scarlett looks adorable in them!

Playoff Standoff

As you know I am a HUGE New England Patriots Fan and my husband is a HUGE Indianapolis Colts fan.  When our teams end up playing each other in a playoffs game, it might as well be the Superbowl in our house, well without the commercials.  This year I made some snacks including a new recipe of oven baked pickles (Trying to replace the fried pickles I love so much).  We had our neighbor Tim and his wife Paula over.  In the end my team won (Only to loose against the Broncos the next week).  After 9 1/2 years of marriage we have learned how to loose gracefully but had fun with the below series of picture blasted out on social media over the night!

New Years Eve- Bringing in 2014

We were going to go to our friends house for the night but I was nervous about spending the night somewhere else.  Paige had thrown up randomly a couple of nights (Not consecutively) and I was feeling a bit nauseous.  Good thing we decided to have a nice family night at home since it happened again after she went to sleep.  She was then fine all day again and it didn't happen again, but I was glad we were home.

We had a nice dinner, played gamed and celebrated with New York.

Baking & Game Day

Chelsie & Tony were only in town until Saturday morning and besides Christmas Eve & Christmas, I had to work all week.  I was able to take a 1/2 day vacation so we can hang out.  But we didn't know what to do so we ended up with a Sisters trip to Target, we were going to bake but didn't really get to that and we played a few games.  It was still nice to hang out with them.  I hate not seeing them every Sunday.

Christmas Day 2013

Christmas morning started around 7am where our daughter anxiously waited to see what Santa had brought her!  She opened presents from Santa, Mom& Dad, and our family in Ohio!  Then we headed to my parents where we had a nice relaxing day of opening presents, eating food and hanging out.  In the evening, I took Paige home while the rest of my family went to see the Hobbit.   I was a little bummed to miss the movie, but it was the only way to make it work and uphold the family tradition.  Overall, we were insanely blessed again this year.  My husband knocked it out of the park with a sewing machine (Almost overruled that when I opened some shirts he bought me and realized they were maternity!  Uhm- Is he trying to tell me something?).  I love spending time with my family.  I wish we could all be together more often.
